Volunteer Service Opportunities

ESLC needs non-tutor volunteers!

You can help us build upon our many strengths and work toward increasing ESLC’s long-term impact in the community by volunteering in a capacity that does not involve literacy tutoring. Some of these volunteer opportunities are also ideal for corporage volunteer groups or a group of friends who want to serve together occasionally.

First, this year, we are giving every child who reaches his or her goals a Super Reader Superhero Cape. If you sew, or know someone who sews, we need help. These simple capes are quick and easy to make. You do not need to applique them or anything.

Second, we are seeking volunteers who can help us stencil the capes with "Super Reader" on them back.

Third, over the summer we will be cleaning, organizing, rearranging, replenishing supplies, and getting ready for next year. We welcome help with this.

Fourth, we are in need of volunteers with specific skills and/or passion for the following:

  • Graphic design
  • Photography
  • Collecting and writing stories
  • Event planning
  • Fundraising, such as preparing mailings, serving on a committee, etc.
  • Office 365 migration from a server
  • SharePoint

Finally, we invite you to consider serving on our Board of Directors or one of the Board Committees.

As always, East Side Learning Center needs volunteer reading tutors during the academic year and sometimes in the summer.
